Take a walk on the wild side of Sloan...
I think we can safely say that you haven't been to a sale quite like the one we have for you this week on Village Lane in Sloan. This longtime local didn't dabble in anything... he went all in with everything he was into. The first thing you'll see is drums. Six piece Gretsch maple import kit that we had to take out of the boxes and assemble (22-10-12-14FT-16FT-5.5 deep snare). Just found: Ludwig blue Vistalite drums! Several Ludwig Super Sensitive and Supra Phonic snare projects, including Keystone models. Vintage Ludwig project kit, many hardware pieces (Rogers, Pearl, Ludwig, import), new heads (Remo and Evans), Rogers Swivo-matic double tom holder, miscellaneous keystone logo Ludwig items, RIMs and other iso-mounts, Pearl double bass pedal, trap case, many odd pieces, and a lot more. Yamaha strat copy with practice amp, never used, a second strat copy, also never used. Just TONS of unopened electronics, plus stacks of VCRs, camcorders, digital and film cameras, receivers, double well cassette decks, 8-track decks, Hi Fi speakers, pair of horn loaded PA cabinets, and an AMAZING classic rock record collection (not a bad title in the lot). There are so many electric RC model planes, we don't know what to do with them. Many vintage model cars, boxes and boxes of sports cards and memorabilia, sporting goods, and team jerseys and jackets. Then there's the hunting! Scads of hunting apparel and accessories, a VAST collection of knives, gun cabinets (some never assembled), gun stocks, sights and ammo. Bear rugs and trophies. Men's clothing is here in quantity, several pairs of brand new jeans, many pairs of Dingo cowboy boots as well as other footwear and again, many jackets, including several new Carharts. There's also lots of kitschey mid century furnishings, a great Deco bedroom set in great condition, wonderful glass, china and other smalls, ephemera from Poland and Russia (a very cool Lucite clock from the USSR), antique international band radios, ethnic children's costumes, along with modern furnishings, a massive King bed, and everyday kitchen stuff. Never used generator and snow blower, lots of tools, and that's just what we can see, because we're still unloading the garage. NOW HOLD ON TO YOUR WHATEVER, because it starts getting interesting. There was a frequent visitor who wasn't shy about spending lavishly in support of her (ahem) lifestyle. We'll start at the bottom: Thigh-high boots, stiletto heels, and every kind of provocative shoe (size 12 and 13) you might want to grind into your companion. Hosiery galore and too many unmetionables to mention. Short skirts, blouses, fantasy costumes (French maid, school girl, Little Bo Peep (Large to XL), purses and exotic accessories and a fabulous collection of wigs (Dolly Parton, Eva Gabor, Cher). An AMAZING array of frilly negliges, dresses, gowns and bridal. Downstairs, we're putting together a special room, and there won't be pictures.
